Field Day ResultsProvisional results from the 2007 Arrow/UMARC Field Day, according to organizer KT8K: I have submitted our entry, and it looks like we scored 8184 points on QSOs and 1850 points on bonuses (only missed 200 points on regular bonuses, and only got about 1/5 of the possible GOTA points/bonuses) for a grand total of 10,034 points!! Past scores: Keep in mind that bonuses change from year to year, and can be a significant factor. This year's maximum was 2850 due to the huge GOTA station bonuses, while in previous years it was usually about 1850, give or take a few hundred (I haven't researched this). In any case, all participants and contributors did a fine job, and I am looking forward to possibly doing even better next year. The main thing is, though, that lots of people came out (I submitted an estimate of 50) and got to try some contesting, some new bands and/or modes, hang out with everybody and ragchew, not to mention enjoying George's fine cooking. I believe our two clubs met the spirit of Field Day in fine style, and I hope you had as much fun as I did. Folks are already talking about next year, and discussing what new things we might try. Several people this year expressed an interest in having digital station next year, and after the way the digital bands were howling during the contest this year, I think that is a very good idea. So I am considering that we should run as 5A next year and try for a really good RTTY/PSK31 effort as the 5th station. Anyway, I'm beat and it's way past midnight on a work night, so ... thanks again, everybody. |
