Field Day 2010
Thank you for deciding to be a part of Field Day 2010. This is the single most popular on-air event of the year, and we are glad you could take part in it.
Field Day is not a simple contest or get together, but a complete example of the facets of amateur radio. You can see examples of Contesting, Emergency Service, Experimentation, and Socialisation; among other things. You can also see many of the various things which you can do in Amateur radio.
Amateur radio is more than just sitting in a chair and talking into a mic. There are many others aspects of amateur operations that you could learn about, and we welcome you to ask!
here are some of the things that you can see at the event:
- The public information area (1) is a good place start for information
- The GOTA tent (2) gives new hams, and visitors, a change to try what they saw
- The Educational area (3) will have some good info for new hams setting up
- The HF Phone tents (4 & 5) will demonstrate HF voice operations
- The HF digital tent (6) show2s some of the exciting aspects of technology and radio
- The VHF/UHF tent (7) is reserved for higher frequency operations
