ARROW meeting, THIS WEDNESDAY, October 12th
The next ARROW meeting will be held this Wednesday, October 12th, at the Maker Works, 3765 Plaza Dr., Ann Arbor. This is in the industrial park just north of the airport. You can take a look at the map at http://www.maker-works.com/ for more information.
There won’t be a talk at this month’s meeting, because it’s Construction Night. We will be building some little power
supply kits. If you didn’t contact me beforehand, then unfortunately I won’t have one for you to build. If you did,
then I’ll have one for you.
Maker Works will have eight soldering irons set up for us, meaning each will have to be shared by two builders. You
can certainly bring your own, though, if you don’t want to share. They will also have solder and solder wick for us to
use. Bringing your own needle-nose pliers and diagonal cutters might also be a good idea.
I already built mine just to make sure there weren’t any problems. I’m happy to report that it went together quite
easily and worked as advertised. I think you’ll all find it’s worth the ten bucks.
Before getting started on the kits, we’ll get a tour of the MakerWorks facility. This is a very cool addition to the
Ann Arbor “maker” community. Maker Works is an 11,000 sq. ft. member-based studio featuring 4 areas of making: METAL, CIRCUITS, WOOD and CRAFT. It also provides hundreds of hand tools, classes, a retail store and more. So, even if you’re not building the kit, attending the meeting will be worth your while.

Board of Directors meeting, Monday @ 6:30pm
The ARROW Board of Directors meeting will be held on Monday October 3rd starting at 6:30pm. This is a different day and time from our *normal* meeting dates. The move was necessary to work around some temporary scheduling conflicts. The BoD will meet on the 1st Monday of the months of October, November, and December, after which it will return to its usual 1st Tuesday schedule. The location remains at the Red Cross Chapter on Packard Road, no change in venue will take place during this time.
