Arrow Saturday Breakfast – moved to December 18th
This year, the normal date for our monthly Arrow Saturday Breakfast falls on December 25th.
We wanted to make sure we didn’t miss you, so we are inviting you to join us at our normal location and rag chew for a while!
Stew Perry Top Band Challenge this Saturday evening!!!
Hello everyone.
I had to wait till now to post this as I was not sure if I would be available to help out on this one.
This Saturday starting at 2pm is the Stew Perry Top Band Challenge on 160m!!! This is a cw only operating contest. So if anyone would like to come out and operate from the Red Cross club station, bring your favorite key, paddle, or keyer with you after 5pm and come out to operate.
As for me, I will be using the computer to do all my cw decoding and sending. I know, “not the same as a keyer”, but thats the best I can do. Plus I need a control operator there anyways…:)
We’ll have the clubs Icom 746pro and Kenwood ts-430 along with my Yaesu FT-990 to use this weekend.
I’ll be out there about 5pm testing out my Yaesu ft-990 on some of the other bands and configuring for computer generated coding. I would like to be able to operate till about 3 or 4 am Sunday morning (longer if there is enthusiasm) if possible to see what conditions are like in December compared to last January in the CQ WW 160m contest which we did pretty good in.

Many of the current elected officers will be running for another term, while a couple positions are still up in the air. NOW is your chance to step forward and help serve the club and help it to grow and move forward! A couple extra hours of your time per month goes a long way towards advancing the club in its goals and guiding it toward fun and education for its members. Please consider serving!
There will be “White Elephant” gift exchange at this meeting. This is a chance to dig through your shack or garage and wrap up an item or two to swap with your fellow ARROW members. The idea is leave a gift, take a gift. So take a few minutes this weekend to sort through that junk box, or make a quick visit to Harbor Freight or Radio Shack for a small gift or two to share (participation is optional).

SKYWARN Recognition Day was developed in 1999 by the National Weather Service and the American Radio Relay League. It celebrates the contributions that volunteer SKYWARN radio operators make to the National Weather Service. During the day SKYWARN operators visit NWS offices and contact other radio operators across the world.
